Vegan Cuisine DVD giveaway

No word of a lie, last month my 7 year opened the door to the fridge, found a bowl of unidentified veggie slaw and asked me (in all seriousness), "why is there compost in fridge?" I had a good laugh about that one since that "compost" was our lunch.

Today's giveaway will hopefully help you prepare plant based meals that don't look like compost!

DVD Giveaway

I've mentioned before that we've taught health classes and done nutritional counseling. As part of our learning and research for those roles we have purchased various books and videos over the years. We are always simplifying our stack of these though and during a recent purge found this DVD to give away to a lucky reader.

Try as I might I cannot find a link for this through the source we bought it from. Maybe it's out of print now. If so, you'll be getting a limited edition copy!

The DVD is a three part presentation titled Creative Low-Fat Vegan Cuisine by Jill Nussinow; cooking teacher, Registered Dietitian and freelance writer (aka The Veggie Queen). Here's a further description from the back:

When you finish watching my entertaining presentations you will know all about grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables, and condiments. More importantly you will see how to turn them into delectable dishes that your family and friends will love. Because I use unprocessed, natural ingredients, you can count on recipes that will allow you to effortlessly lose excess weight and regain lost health.

To enter the giveaway please leave a comment here (not at facebook) by Tuesday, January 26th at midnight. Comments will then be closed and one name will be chosen randomly.

I just discovered your lovely blog. It's so nice to meet you. I recently discovered that I have a dairy intolerance so I've been scraping around for suitable substitutes and recipes. This is wonderful!

I have a past history of not being particularly fond of vegetables (which worked not at all well during a 5-year period when my wife and I were strict ovo-lacto vegetarians), but I'm making an effort to learn to like them and that my family (for whom I'm the primary cook) can eat lower on the food chain.

Me! Me! Me! I've wanted to try to incorporate some vegan dishes into our family's repertoire. I'm debating trying to go vegan for Lent this year. This would be so helpful.

    And lol about the compost!

    Hey,

I've been following your blog for a while and some of the stuff you put up that you've made looks really good! I'm mostly vegetarian and now trying to go gluten free too so I love reading your recipes and stuff.

I would love to see this DVD. I am right at this moment working on re-working our diet. We used to eat really well (everything from scratch, even fresh herbs and seasonings), but since moving to the US things have slipped a little, and I want to get back on track! Plus I have always wanted to learn more about cooking with legumes, because I have not done enough of that. So, please count me in! :)

I have been trying very hard, with not much success, to get my family eating more healthfully. This DVD would be such a help!

You are correct about this DVD being out of print. It is a collector's item and I wish that I had more of them to sell since it's so educational. I hope that whoever gets it enjoys it thoroughly and shares it with others.

    Thanks for doing this.

I'd like to learn more from this DVD and share it with an older, obese friend who has finally become open to the fact that there are other sources of protein than meat. What she's learning, she's passing on to a friend whose serious illnesses are almost certainly diet-related. This would help at least 3 people - hopefully more since 2 of us cook for groups.

Thank you for the offer. May whoever wins it enjoy and use it well.

I would love a chance at this DVD! Thanks for being willing to share. We are slowly progressing towards cleaner eating. I enjoy your blog, especially when there's snow in the picture:) We don't see much of that where I'm from!

I would love to get my hands on this DVD! Thanks for such a great food post. I really appreicate it when people can communicate their food-lifestyles without making me feel like their way is the only way. Thanks ;)

As a beginner on this plant-based diet journey, I'd love to get my hands on this DVD! (Especially after a day of a little too much indulging and realizing exactly how sick these animal products are actually making me. Ugh.)

Hey cuz! I don't know if you were aware of this, but I've been following your blog for a long time, I think since I stayed over for Thanksgiving in 2006. Wow. It's been a while. (Thanks again for that, by the way. It was an incredibly relaxing week). Anyways, this video sounds interesting, and while I'm here, might as well throw my name in the hat! I cook lunches with some friends each week, and figuring out different non-meat ways to beef up (or better, fill out?) the meals would be nice. :)

I am admittedly a bit of a junk food vegan. I recently got back into cooking more fresh foods and I'm feeling a lot better. This DVD sounds like it would be great to own! Thank you so much for the chance to win :)
