ants eating onionants eating onionIf you want some information on what ants eat.

I took a grape, some peanut butter and some coconut and some cashews and raisins and a little slice of apple. I put it by an ant colony. And then what happens is I looked back a few minutes later and I saw an ant coming out for a warning for the ants to gather the food. And then I goed away for a minute or two and when I came back I saw more ants that were sending out the warning. And then I just waited a few more minutes and lots of ants were out gathering the food. And then I came back half an hour ago and the coconut was almost gone. And the peanut butter the ants like the most.

And then the day after I came back to look and the peanut butter, coconut, raisins and the cashews were gone. Because the ants like them the most. And then I came back the next day and the grape's gone, the apples still there and all the rest of the things are gone.

What I thought is that the ants like the coconut because maybe they thought it was their eggs. And if there is a little hole in the grape they can go in it and eat out the soft stuff.

Ants

Laurent, that was quite a feast you offered to those ants. I wouldn't have even thought of putting coconut on the menu. It would be easy for them to carry and maybe they did think it was their eggs. Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods so I can understand why they would think it a tasty treat. That's interesting that the apple was left to the last...maybe the other stuff looked more inviting and gourmet!!
