Today is the first day of spring. The day was overcast & drab and the snow is still mounded 2 feet high over most of my gardens. Not surprisingly there is nothing green growing out of doors so in an attempt to post about something lovely, green and growing I've resorted to taking a photo of my sprouts.

Growing sprouts is super easy and economical. Our kids love them. I can only grow enough to provide a generous serving for our salads every couple of days but they are home grown crunch nonetheless.
This site has good directions for sprouting.
My sprouting tips:
(By the way, I don't usually keep them on the counter by the window but the dish drain, where I keep them, isn't so photogenic.)

Hi Renee...I forgot how I found your site...but its great! Vegan, glueten free, & homeschooling mom all in one place!!! And in nearby Maine, I am in NH. Anyways,I watched your video, it was great, I like this idea about sprouting! Thanks for sharing. I have much more to read :)
